Stainless Steel (all grades)

Stainless steel is a common alloy comprised primarily of steel and chromium, along with other metals, including nickel. Stainless steel is best known for its natural corrosion resistance, which increases with the amount of chromium content. Beneficial properties of stainless steel include:

  • Corrosion resistance
  • High heat resistance
  • High strength
  • Easy to fabricate
  • High impact resistance
  • Available in FDA/USDA-approved and medical grades

Stainless Steel Fabrication

At Petersen Precision, stainless steel is the most common material we work with. We fabricate precision stainless steel parts and components from stainless steel in all grades, including 300 Series, 400 Series, high nickel-content stainless steels, and exotic stainless steel alloys. Certain alloys, such as 300 Series stainless steel, are generally more difficult to work with than others due to work hardening, but we have the capabilities to fabricate parts and components from all stainless steel grades with equal precision.

Multiple processes can be combined to create dimensionally perfect parts that match your unique design specifications. Our fabrication capabilities include:

We produce stainless steel parts for aerospace, scientific instruments, medical device components and other demanding markets. We have the experience and expertise to produce parts that meet even the most stringent industry standards.
